Treatment methods
Mind and character shape the body: assessing the naturopathic as well as the physical and psychological status leads to identifying the specific causes of illness — and thus to choosing your individual treatment. Click on a method to learn more.
Acupuncture
Unleashing life energy: blockages that cause illness are released with fine needles — restoring the body's natural balance.
Acupuncture can increase blood flow to specific areas of the body and ease existing muscle tension; it can also help regulate the immune response. Western medicine uses acupuncture above all for treating pain — for example headaches and muscle tension.
Book an appointmentIris diagnosis
The Hippocratics and authors such as Hildegard von Bingen already included the eye in their diagnoses. Modern iris diagnosis goes back to Ignaz von Peczély (1880/81) and was refined above all by German naturopaths.
Based on the colour, density and structure of the iris, the practitioner gains insights into:
- the constitution (overall physical condition)
- the location of illness and predisposition to disease
- the individual reaction pattern
- energy balance and metabolic situation
- pathological interconnections between the body's systems
Iris diagnosis thus also provides very concrete guidance for treatment.
Book an appointmentBloodletting
Bloodletting is one of the classic elimination methods of traditional naturopathy. Usually a maximum of 500 ml of blood is drawn from the vein — under the strictest hygiene standards and following the time-honoured rules of this method.
Applications
- high blood pressure
- acute inflammatory conditions
- conditions involving an excess of red blood cells
- venous congestion (haemorrhoids, varicose veins)
Baunscheidt therapy
An elimination method developed by Carl Baunscheidt (1809–1873): the skin is superficially punctured with a fine, sterile needle instrument and then rubbed with a special oil. This causes reddening of the skin with small blisters — an initial itch turns into a pleasant feeling of warmth; the skin reaction subsides on its own.
Applications
- disorders of tendons, muscles and joints
- functional disorders of internal organs via the skin's reflex zones
- chronic inflammation, pain, irritation and cramping
- stimulation of lymph flow and detoxification through the skin
Traditional European Naturopathy (TEN)
Traditional European Naturopathy continues the ancient doctrine of the four elements, which formed the basis of Western medicine for over two thousand years — associated with names such as Hippocrates, Hildegard von Bingen, Paracelsus and Hahnemann.
Modern TEN sees itself as accompanying and complementing conventional medicine, not competing with it. The aim is to treat acute and chronic illness with regard to the individual constitution and to activate the body's powers of self-healing. In my practice, iris diagnosis and kinesiology are the primary tools for this.
Book an appointmentChiropractic
Chiropractic reintegrates joints that have dropped out of the body's overall dynamics back into the movement pattern. Targeted manual techniques applied to individual spinal segments and joints aim to restore mobility. Many patients find the treatment noticeably relieving.
Effective chiropractic is always a combination therapy of loosening techniques, cupping, Baunscheidt therapy and heat treatment.
Applications
- acute and chronic pain in the pelvis, spine and shoulder girdle
- nerve pain originating from the spine (e.g. sciatica)
- autonomic disorders originating in the spine
Autologous blood therapy
A special form of injection therapy: an increasing amount of blood is drawn from the vein over the course of treatment and re-injected — classically in 10 to 15 sessions. As a modulation therapy it can positively influence misregulations in how the organism receives and responds to stimuli.
Applications
- allergies and chronic infections
- skin conditions such as neurodermatitis and psoriasis
- conditions of the rheumatic spectrum
- weakened patients with recurring infections
Homeopathy
Founded by Samuel Hahnemann around 1800, the method follows the principle of similarity: "like cures like". The remedy chosen is the one that can produce symptoms in a healthy person similar to those of the patient — administered in potentised, highly diluted form.
The choice of remedy is based on a detailed homeopathic case history covering the complete picture of symptoms — considerably more comprehensive than a purely scientific consultation.
Book an appointmentKinesiology
The main tool of applied kinesiology is the muscle test: every stimulus we perceive is experienced as either strengthening or weakening — and precisely this can be read from the muscle. What fascinates patients: they experience first-hand which factors weaken or strengthen them.
Applications
- monitoring an ongoing treatment
- testing medication and its effectiveness
- testing foods for tolerance
- balancing the body's energy system
- testing material compatibility (e.g. dental fillings, on behalf of your dentist)
Bowen therapy
Bowen therapy — named after the Australian Thomas A. Bowen (1916–1982) — is a gentle fascia therapy based on naturopathic and osteopathic principles. Gentle rolling moves stimulate the fascia and trigger self-regulation processes throughout the body.
Main applications
- back pain and muscle tension
- rheumatic complaints, fibromyalgia
- impaired lymph drainage
- autonomic imbalance, chronic headaches
Spagyric medicine
The term goes back to Paracelsus: the art of using alchemical processes (fermentation, distillation, calcination) to extract the valuable essence of a medicinal plant and combine it into effective essences.
Spagyric essences do not suppress the body's natural defence reactions (such as fever) but support the restoration of its natural balance. Many functional disorders can be treated with spagyric medicine; in more serious conditions it serves as supportive treatment.
Book an appointmentCholine citrate infusions
Choline citrate is a precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which plays a key role in regulating the autonomic nervous system. A balanced nervous system relies on the harmonious interplay of the sympathetic (activation) and parasympathetic (relaxation and regeneration) systems.
In cases of inner restlessness, stress and exhaustion, an infusion with choline citrate can support the parasympathetic system and thus help the body find its way back into balance — for deep relaxation and restful sleep.
Main areas of use
- inner restlessness and tension
- stress and exhaustion
- sleep disorders
- autonomic imbalance
Ozone therapy
Without oxygen there is no life: every living cell needs oxygen for its metabolism. Ozone (O₃) is oxygen in its most energy-rich, activated form — ozone therapy makes use of this property.
What can ozone do?
- inhibit inflammation and thereby reduce pain
- promote blood circulation
- regulate the immune response
- stimulate metabolism and cellular respiration
- enhance the effect of homeopathy and acupuncture
